Burquin Church

Church of the Ten Lepers

The church is also called Saint George`s church and is one of the oldest churches in the world.
According to the new New Testament it was here that Jesus crossed the village on his way from Galilee to Jerusalem and healed 10 lepers.
The origin of this church goes back to Byzantine era and was constructed inside the cave where the miracle happened.
I am not a religious person but this little church was fascinating from a historical point of view.
A true little gem.

A New Morning in Jerusalem and beyond.

Waking up  to a new morning in an unknown city is full of promises.

The noise in the small streets, the smell of freshly baked bread

The view from the window

Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. A city which is so important for so many religions.
We did not stay long but headed off to start our hiking tour on the Westbank.

We had to take many de-tours due to road blocks or like here to demonstrations and burning of tyres.

I guess I have never ever before seen so many car wrecks.

And then beautiful pastoral scenery.

Beautiful little towns where we spent the night.
To be continued...

Jerusalem at night

Jerusalem

I arrived in Jerusalem after the sun went down and started to explore the old city at night. Slowly the busy bazaar closed its doors and the alleyways and little streets lay deserted.

After the rain

The moment the rain stops and the sun appears again. Magical glittering light makes for perfect reflections.

Wishing you all a sunny weekend.

Walking....

"But I would walk five hundred miles
And I would walk five hundred more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door."

"I `m  Gonna be ( 500Miles)
The Proclaimers

Maybe these shoes were left on purpose on the rubbish bin?
I`ve learned that this is being done in NYC for the homeless.
Thank you Robin .
